Our startup guide to online business marketing:
Online marketing as a solution is growing all the time with website owners understanding more and more the power of how it benefits their business. If you are trading in competitive markets then it takes time. If your products are not competitive then mentioning them a few times on a page and also in the title of the page will probably do the trick but in saying that make sure the site is fast loading with reduced image sizes and has quality code from a professional design company. If the search engines cannot read or find your pages due to bad code then nothing will work.

How do I get my business reviewed?
An essential tool to gaining local business results in the search engines is to get your customers to review your services.
Google Maps (Google Places) provides a free way for this to happen or you can use a paid directory listing with TrueLocal which offer a review section which links into your facebook account.
I have found the trick is not to expect this to happen however ask your customers to review you, add a link to the directory listing review section in your email signature, ask clients in an email or send a request out with your final invoice. Make it easy for your customers.
When you have provided a quality service, clients are more than happy to review your business.
Alternately place reviews onto your website, this helps with credibility. Be honest and dont get friends to write a review for you, reviews that aren't so good also help with credibility as the show you are honest and not perfect. Aim for one review per week.

"The Internet is one of the first places a person will go to get information about a product or service before they buy"
In the past, when your customers were looking for a product or service, their easiest option would be to pull out the Yellow Pages to search for a business in their area that provided the product or service they were in need of. This normally supplied a name and phone number, address and maybe a picture advertisement with a list of services or products.
